Dr. Tonisha M. Pinckney, Founder of Revelatus Specialized Accounting and Consulting, LLC and I AM MORE Institute for Excellence and Social Responsibility, Inc., is a native of Newark, NJ and is dedicated to education and advocacy. With a wide range of expertise, supported by over 16 years of experience. Most recently, Dr. Pinckney was the Director of Criminal Justice Undergraduate and Graduate Programs at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. She is also a part-time Lecturer at Lasell College. Previously, Dr. Pinckney was Director of the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Programs at Newbury College in Brookline. Pinckney was also the Assistant Dean of Adult & Professional Studies, Online Learning, Institutional Partnerships at Newbury College in Brookline, MA. As a practitioner, Dr. Pinckney works with religious institutions and non-profits, small to moderate sized businesses, and attorneys. Service offerings include expert witness reports and testimony, risk assessments, interviewing, recommending organizational structures that mitigate risk, and educating employees and managers.
Dr. Pinckney earned a doctorate of philosophy in Criminal Justice and Criminology (2014), a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati (2010), and graduate certificates in Security Studies (2011) and Forensic Criminology (2012), both from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dr. Pinckney earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (2007) from Kean University in New Jersey. Dr. Pinckney is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and earned the related certification. She is also a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics as earned and granted by the National Association of Certified Value Analysts. She also has a host of other educational and professional development certifications and accomplishments related to sexual offending and recidivism, expert witness testimony, emergency management, and risk assessment.
Dr. Pinckney is passionate about educating small businesses and minority communities about identity theft, fraud prevention, risk assessment, business start-up, non-profit sustainability, establishing a non-profit and more. As Director of the Undergraduate and Graduate Criminal Justice Programs at Anna Maria College, Dr. Pinckney developed undergraduate, graduate, and certificate-level programs creating interest in field related to white collar crime, fraud detection, emergency planning and risk assessment, and forensic accounting – and teaches related courses. The Anna Maria College Criminal Justice Program, under Dr. Pinckney’s leadership, became an Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Education Partner.
Dr. Pinckney is an outspoken author, advocate, and activist on issues of racial, socioeconomic, and gender disparities. She is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts, Inc. where she works with local law enforcement at a Crisis Intervention Team Instructor, helps promote and maintain diversity and inclusiveness, and advocates for more funding for mental health treatment, transportation, child mental health services, health care, and police training. She also serves as corporator, trustee, or board member for other organizations. Fueled by her own experiences, she authored books discussing domestic violence, sexual assault, parenting, grief, mental illness, and racial and socio-economic disparity – I AM MORE – The Journey (2009,2016), I AM MORE: Surviving Survival (2013, 2017), and Get Over It? I'm Still Going Through it! 15 Tools to Use When Going Through Tough Times (2017). Recognizing the importance of saying, "I AM MORE!" Dr. Pinckney registered it as a trademark.
