The Creative Process is a Mindfulness Practice

 

Denise Demaras is an Artist, Author, Photographer, and Board Certified Holistic Health and Life Coach. She was born in New York and moved often throughout her childhood. Being 'the new girl' taught her how to let go of familiarity and start over - often. She considers her disruptive childhood a gift as it led her in search of ways to manage the discomfort and pain around changes. Her dedication was and is extensive and determined.

“Many moves taught me how to roam and know that in my heart I was home.”

 After receiving her certification as a Holistic Health and Life Coach from Columbia University Teachers College and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition for Holistic Health and Nutrition, she became board certified as a Health and Nutrition Practitioner by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.  She continued her pursuits and soon thereafter became a Chopra certified Meditation teacher and Chapman certified Art for Healing Instructor. Everything fell into place. And then it happened.

On Christmas Eve, 2009, she became the victim of a terrible car accident which restricted her life and ability to work. Knowing that there is no greater teacher than life, she embraced this challenge and allowed her new life circumstances to show her the way to heal.

As she expected, Denise found the way to triumph over emotional resistance and overcome physical pain. In the end the very accident that brought her to her knees proved to be another gift, a blessing of learning, deep healing and joy.  Denise found her way home and the way to her healing in her heart. 

Her healing journey was fueled with mindfulness and the creative process.  She shares what she has lived, learned and put into practice on her website, in social media and in her book Heal from Your Heart with Breath, Rhyme and Art.

She gives us an offering from the heart to help all those who struggle with pain, stubborn emotional and mental blocks, negativity and stress. It is a tremendous guide to self healing for every body, every day.
