Solo world traveler having bucked the system and left the U.S. to follow her dream.
Steph is a San Antonio native but grew up in Virignia before heading back to Texas at age 19. There, she finished school and started a career in I.T. From programming to systems operations to building computers, she has a vast background in the field. But it wasn't what made her happy.
She longed for a life in Central America, having traveled there for 20 years. After a few years of learning how to deal with her fears and bucking the norm, she quit her I.T. career, sold her house, cars and most of her belongings to work with wild animals in Costa Rica. Nine months later, she moved to Panama to help an American couple start a butterfly attraction and raised all the butterflies herself.
Deciding to see the rest of the world, she headed to New Zealand to do a long term house sit (which didn't pan out) and found herself on a sheep farm for three months. She then traveled to Australia to check off some bucket list items and came back to New Zealand where she met her partner and has now gained residency there, settling in the Blenheim area and then Napier.
